Christmas at Disney World

Dec 29, 2018

Have you recovered from all things Christmas or are you sad to see it come and go so quickly?

Either way, I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

Our family spent a few magical days during Christmas at Disney World to celebrate Audri’s 6th birthday (courtesy of my generous in-laws) and it was a blast!

Here are a few things you might want to consider if you’re planning a trip to Disney World in the near future:

  • Use a Disney travel agent
  • Schedule your days by the hour (even planned spontaneity)
  • Use Fast Pass options
  • Plan your trip a year in advance
  • Download the My Disney Experience app before you arrive
  • Make an online account and create one for every member in your party
  • Only visit one park per day
  • stay at a Disney Resort if possible
  • purchase Memory Maker

What to Bring to Disney World:

  • hand sanitizer
  • wet wipes
  • sunscreen
  • re-fillable water bottles
  • chapstick
  • snacks (nuts, sunflower seeds, protein bars)
  • umbrella
  • poncho
  • hand held fan or mister
  • one set of extra clothes
  • autograph book
  • bandaids

Below is our exact Disney World agenda. These are based on Audri’s interests, and my limited opportunity to ride rollercoasters due to pregnancy.

Day 1: Magic Kingdom

  • unpacked (we stayed at the Art of Animation resort in The Little Mermaid room)
  • rode It’s a Small World
  • visited the princess hall to meet Tiana and Rapunzel
  • played at the Winnie the Pooh treehouse
  • met Gaston
  • rode Under the Sea Journey of The Little Mermaid
  • ate dinner in Liberty Square
  • went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Day 2: Animal Kingdom

  • ate breakfast at the resort (Audri lost her second tooth!)
  • watched Finding Nemo the musical
  • played and looked for fossils in Dinosaur Land
  • rode the Kilimanjaro Safari
  • rode Navi River Journey
  • ate dinner with everyone at the Yak and Yeti Restaurant
  • watched the Lion King show (Audri got to dance on stage with them)
  • grabbed yummy desert while Audri joined a random limbo contest in the middle of Animal Kingdom
  • watched the Tree of Lights
  • visited Pandora at night and looked at all of the glowing splendor

Day 3: Hollywood Studios

  • Went to Character Breakfast where Audri got to talk to Rapunzel and Flynn and Ariel and Eric
  • rode the ferry
  • rode Toy Story Mania
  • Paul and I dropped Audri off with my in-laws for some quality time
  • He and I went to Beauty and the Beast show
  • watched Muppet Vision 3D
  • watched Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
  • met up with everyone for dinner at Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano
  • watched Mickey’s Philharmagic

Day 4: Magic Kingdom

  • rode Peter Pan’s Flight
  • ate lunch at Be Our Guest (Belle’s castle)
  • met Ariel in her grotto
  • watched Enchanted Tales with Belle (Audri got to play the part of a horse and Paul got to be a castle guard)
  • ate dinner at the Diamond Horseshoe
  • watched the parade
  • Mickey’s 3d theatre show
  • climbed the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse
  • rode the Carousel of Progress
  • Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy show
  • watched Cinderella’s castle show + fireworks

Overall, we had an incredible time and weren’t completely exhausted (although we did a lot)!

It is WONDERFUL you and your family had a fabulous time! You planned well! We LOVE Disney World (due to my work for eight years – a Children’s Miracle Network Director – and the fact that my husband loves Disney World so, I/we had been many times). It has been a long time since we’ve been there though (14 years). Being there during Christmas time is really a treat! Thank you for posting your fun rundown and Audri’s photos…she is a cutie. Happy #6 Audri!

You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed the post! It was my first time to go as an adult and I loved it. Watching Audri light up brought me much joy. Thank you for stopping by, Diane!
