Organizing For The New Year: 10 Products You’ll Love

Oct 16, 2024

Organizing for the new year requires strategic thinking and planning ahead. Here are my uncomplicated tips to add style and function to your home this year. And, more specifically, the ten items that have helped me stay organized.

Stackable shelves for using space efficiently. These go well in my coffee bar area for housing multiple mugs. They’ve also been a game changer for organizing my food storage containers, making packing lunches a breeze. You don’t have to stop at the kitchen though—I use them in the girls’ closets for double the shoe storage.

Beautiful baskets for stowing away blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals. We keep these baskets in the living room, the bedrooms, and the playroom and we love them.

Use dividers to keep drawers organized. I use these in my kitchen drawers for separating gadgets from utensils from misc supplies. And in the bedroom for organizing bras, underwear, and socks.

Bottle organizers for water bottles and tumblers. It’s not a necessary item, but it keeps lids, straws and bottles at the ready. With the girls in and out of the house all week, this is a daily product that I’m grateful for.

Clear bins for sorting anything and everything: medicine, crafts, and beyond. I have multiple sets in all different shapes and sizes around the home.

Rotating organizers for hard to reach places and daily spots. These are helpful to have in corners where you’d like to utilize the space but a square or rectangle won’t fit. They are handy for everyday items like olive oil and salt and pepper, makeup and skincare, laundry supplies, or grab-and-go snacks.

Pull-out shelves in lower cabinets are not just for built-ins anymore. Shop these convenient shelves for your printer, pots and pans, or towels. These create more storage space and are helpful for your lower back.

Divided containers to keep everything neat. Great for untangling tech wires, keeping cabinets tidy, and organizing anything small.

Cloth bins for backstock items at the bottom of clothes closets and the pantry.

Rolling carts for sorting construction paper and coloring books. You can put these away or keep them next to the kids desks, making it easy for them to get excited about organizing for the new year.

Organizing for the new year starts with decluttering. Keep the things you absolutely love and donate the rest. Only after you have a house full of your favorite items, will you be able to measure and purchase the proper storage solutions for your space. Don’t forget to use a label maker when needed. Happy sorting!
