7 Ways To Show Kindness To Others
Feb 16, 2025
Pure kindness—without expectation—is harder to spot in this day and age, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there if you look closely. Humans are capable beings with innate desires to love and be loved. We have multiple opportunities every day to care for each other. So if you’re heart is in the right place today, but you’re lacking the inspiration on how to practically show kindness to someone else, here are seven ideas:
- Listening is an underrated skill, but I believe it’s one of the most beautiful ways to show kindness to someone else. Specifically, listening to others without planning what we’re going to say in return.
- Extending patience toward someone else’s behavior is another way of showing them kindness and grace. The golden rule exists for a reason.
- Spending time with others is a gift in and of itself. Taking the time to plan ahead lets the other person know that they are worth investing in.
- Mailing someone a gift is a simple act of kindness. Include a nice “just because” message to let them know you’re thinking of them.
- Tangibly serving others is a great way to let them know you care.
- One of my favorite bible verses is Proverbs 16:24, “Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” A kind word, whether through writing or speech, is one of the most powerful ways to show someone love and kindness.
- Praying, in my opinion, is the most important and impactful way to show kindness to someone else. There’s nothing more life-changing than prayer.
