When Life’s Little Stressors Feel Too Big To Handle
Apr 8, 2024Details
One brief statement from this week’s church sermon has continued to stand out in my mind. It’s so simple to say but exceedingly difficult to do. The pastor urged, “Are you letting small distractions keep you from the bigger, more important things that God is trying to prepare you for?” It resonated with me and so I thought I’d leave it here for you. If you’ve ever barreled through your day, fixated on putting out the fires versus praying to God for rain, I see you. If you’ve bought into the lie that once this circumstance or that issue is solved, well, then your life can really begin, I’m there with you. I’m focused now on handing my stressors to God more fully and gratefully, rather than keeping them held high as idols, so afraid of letting go. And, I’m starting to move forward more easily, past life’s distractions—like crumbs on the bottom of my feet—and to focus instead on who those pieces of bread are leading me to, and where He’d like me to go next.
