I once heard that from Heaven’s vantage point, our time on Earth will seem like a dream that we can’t quite recall. Awake and fully alive in the afterlife, we will reminisce of our years on Earth as but a vapor. Knowing it happened but unable to recount the details, deeming it sweet but short-lived. Although none of us can ever really know the reality of Heaven until we arrive, I like this theory. It reminds me to relentlessly chase the things which hold eternal matter, understanding that death is not my finish line. The time and investments I make now on Earth prepare me for when my race truly begins with God in eternity.
