I’ve been interested in mindfulness activities since 2011. Praying to God, yoga, spending time in nature, and journaling are among my most consistent ways of resetting my brain and body from the days’ chaos. Other mindfulness activities I love are traveling, dancing, taking a bath, getting a massage, creating a relaxing atmosphere with calming music and candles, aromatherapy, regular therapy, and trying out the latest products to stay educated on mindfulness as an industry. Daily ways I practice mindfulness include: making a healthy meal from home, reading books and/or the Bible, writing anything, working out, and being with my family. All of the above practices are important to me and each of them have a profound effect on my mental health. During particularly challenging times, I’ll use another exercise to calm my central nervous system. Specifically, the 4-7-8 breathing technique: I inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, then exhale for 8. I repeat this activity for as long as it takes until I’m calm. For those of you who are looking to adopt new mindfulness activities, I hope you start today. It doesn’t have to be perfect—whatever activity points you to faith, presence, awareness, and gratitude, do more of those things. You can shop the below items to help you get started.
