When you commit to hiking with kids, you’re choosing something deeper than exercise with a pretty view. You’re teaching them what resilience looks like in real time. You’re fostering skills of patience and delayed gratification. And, in a world filled with distractions, you’re giving them space to discover and explore for themselves.
For ten years, Paul and I have hiked mountains across the US. Sharing this hobby with the girls has always been a dream of ours. The miles get covered more slowly. We take more breaks and we carry more snacks, but the reward of sitting on a mountain peak together is worth every step along the trail.
