Hurricane Harvey – How To Help

Aug 28, 2017

Today’s post is more informative than creative, because I’ve been focusing a lot of my mental attention on Hurricane Harvey.

I know this is unlike my typical blog content, but world change is my biggest passion, and it’s important that we come together for people in crisis!

I want to ask all of my readers to fervently pray over Houston and the Texas coast. For those of you that are based in NY, Chicago, and overseas…no my family does not live close by. We live around 4 hours away.

Whether you are local or miles away, we can all help by taking time to pray for people in this area, their loved ones that might be estranged, the innocent lives taken, and the re-building of their city.

Praying for the damage done and the future of Hurricane Harvey is necessary and will help in powerful ways!

“I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather together in My name, there I am with them.” – Matthew 18:19-20

If you’ve been praying, but God has placed a desire on your heart to help in tangible ways, I’ve listed three things you can do below. Simply click on the names of the organizations for more info.

  1. American Red Cross: You can make any donation amount through the website or by texting HARVEY to 90999
  2. Mercy Chefs: This is a faith-based organization who serves meals to victims, first responders, and volunteers at disasters. They are currently in Houston. Find more info on their Facebook page here.
  3. Trusted World: donate baby items (diapers, wipes, formula, food), feminine hygiene products, shoes to wear in the shower, non-perishable food, clothing and other toiletries. There’s a drop-off location at 15660 Dallas Parkway. If you’re local, it’s off of Dallas North and Arapaho.

Here’s the latest news on Hurricane Harvey. As always, thanks for stopping by!
